Ron Paul: 'Government is a giant, blood-sucking parasite on our otherwise healthy economy'

From His Texas Straight Talk Column:
It's not that nearly half of Americans are dependent on government; it's actually more than half.  If one includes not just people on food stamps and welfare, but also seniors on Medicare, Social Security and people employed by the government directly, the number is more like 165 million out of 308 million, which is 53%.

Ron Paul says corporate medicine not much better than socialized medicine - The Hill's Healthwatch

Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (Texas) said the current healthcare system is overly corporate and not much better than a socialized healthcare system during a town hall in Meredith, New Hampshire on Sunday.

Paul, a physician, said he began practicing medicine in the 1950s before Medicare and Medicaid, so the government had a minimal role in the healthcare system. He said that since President Lyndon Johnson introduced the idea of a federal role in healthcare costs have skyrocketed and the system has become controlled by corporations instead of the government.

Schiff: There are no subsidies for corporate jet owners

He explains:
There are no subsidies for corporate jet owners. The fact that corporations are forced to depreciate jets over a period of five years, rather than being able to fully deduct the expenditure immediately, is not a subsidy but a penalty. Just because commercial airlines are penalized more does not mean other corporations are getting a subsidy
